Mayo Clinic is seeking a Vice Chair of Education Administration to serve as an administrative partner to the dean of Education for their respective site. This role involves overseeing and executing the College of Medicine and Science Operating Plan and assigned work unit plans, in conjunction with the shield Chair. The Vice Chair will participate in enterprise-wide education administrative activities, including sharing best practices, initiating quality management systems, and aligning staffing to workload metrics. The position requires strong leadership, guidance, and direction to achieve operational and service excellence, and effective, compliant management of all Education administration activities. The role also involves participating in system-wide strategic planning for Education and performing system-wide administrative functions to support the institutional mission and Education vision. Collaboration with physicians, scientists, and administration leaders across the Mayo Clinic enterprise is crucial to translate the mission and Education vision into daily operations. The Vice Chair will have administrative oversight of assigned support units within the College of Medicine, including strategic planning, financial management, and performance management. They will also be responsible for the administrative oversight of the Education Strategic Project Portfolio and/or Education Administration Integration initiatives, and provide support as an Administrator/Committee Secretary for assigned areas. Additionally, the role involves administrative oversight of College of Medicine regulation and accreditation requirements related to Higher Learning Commission accreditation, and administrative responsibility for special projects as assigned by the shield Administrative Chair. This includes analyzing organizational relationships, developing recommendations for change, and communicating them to appropriate groups. The Vice Chair will collaborate with the enterprise education leadership team on strategic planning and management of financial and capital resources for the College of Medicine and assigned units, providing an institutional perspective to integrate with Clinical Practice, Research, and Human Resources. Establishing relationships with external agencies and organizations to enhance knowledge of the education environment and visibility of Mayo's Education programs, and nurturing collaborations and partnerships that support Mayo goals are also key aspects of this role. Active involvement with external academic medicine professional organizations is expected.
