About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking an Industrial Vibration Technician for maintenance work in Chesterfield, VA. The ideal candidate will have verifiable vibration tech experience. This role involves performing electrical tests and vibration analysis using various portable electronic equipment, field balancing, laser alignments, installing and removal of electric motors and other electro-mechanical equipment, and interpreting and ensuring compliance with operating policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Verifiable vibration tech experience on resume
  • Certified Level 1 or 2 vibration analyst
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and rotating equipment
  • Must be physically able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Must have current TWIC card
  • Experience installing and removing electric motors and other electro-mechanical equipment
  • Able to perform basic math functions
  • Able to understand, perform and retain various job related training, operational, and safety procedures
  • Four years of experience in specified skill
  • Written pre-employment qualification test

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and rotating equipment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical tests and vibration analysis using various portable electronic equipment
  • Perform field balancing
  • Perform laser alignments
  • Install and remove electric motors and other electro-mechanical equipment
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Dismantle machines
  • Move machinery and equipment
  • Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers
  • Align machines and equipment using reverse alignment method
  • Assemble machines and bolt, weld, rivet or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures
  • May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications
  • May repair and lubricate machines and equipment
  • May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates
