About The Position

Bridgeport Schools is moving forward with an innovative vision for the future of our students. In August of 2026, we will open The Bridge, our new 31,000 square foot addition to expand student educational opportunities and career pathways. We are seeking a dedicated, career focused Veterinary Technology Instructor to lead students and help connect students to real-world experiences. We will assist the selected candidate in the process to obtain the proper licensure that is required to hold and maintain the position. The selected candidate chosen for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will have the unique ability to build and lead a program from the ground up. One that will equip Bridgeport students with hands-on veterinary skills while creating meaningful pathways and shadowing opportunities that lead to future employment or further education upon graduation from Bridgeport Schools.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in veterinary medical technology
• Current veterinary technician licensure in the Veterinary field or willingness to obtain such licensure
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the Veterinary field or a related field
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to think futuristically
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to pass the required BCI and FBI background clearances

Nice To Haves

• Career-Technical teaching experience is preferred, but not required
• Experience in dog grooming
• Instructional experience leading new learners

Responsibilities

• Lead students and help connect students to real-world experiences.
• Build and lead a program from the ground up.
• Equip Bridgeport students with hands-on veterinary skills.
• Create meaningful pathways and shadowing opportunities that lead to future employment or further education upon graduation.
• Build job shadowing experiences in collaboration with local Veterinary clinics.
