About The Position

Cherished Companions Animal Clinic is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $19 - $30 per hour, based on experience and licensure. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:45 am - 6:00 pm, consisting of four ten-hour shifts. The clinic is a five-doctor small animal hospital in Castle Rock known for its incredible team culture. Requirements

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred
  • Experienced Veterinary Assistant and technician candidates welcome
  • Confidence in patient handling and technical skills
  • Strong technical abilities including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring
  • Experience assisting in surgery and patient nursing care
  • Knowledge of preventative care, pharmacology, and medication administration
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset and commitment to continued learning
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and genuine passion for veterinary medicine

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and obtain medical histories, vitals, and patient assessments
  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and procedures
  • Provide compassionate nursing care from intake through discharge
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
  • Obtain high-quality radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging
  • Run in-house laboratory testing including CBC/chemistry, urinalysis, and cytology
  • Support surgical and dental procedures including preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery
  • Practice Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques
  • Educate clients with compassion, clarity, and confidence
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain efficient workflow and a positive hospital culture
