About The Position

Washington County Veterinary Hospital is located in Wakefield, Rhode Island and is a modern facility providing exceptional veterinary care. They are looking to add a full-time experienced veterinary technician to their team. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with animal handling and restraint, rooming patients, assisting in surgery and surgical recovery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood and running bloodwork, have experience with x-ray and proper positioning, using laboratory equipment, and be a positive and supportive team player. The hospital understands and supports work-life balance and encourages constant growth in education. This is an opportunity for an experienced veterinary technician to continue to grow in their career and education in veterinary medicine.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Knowledge of animal behavior and healthcare
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Understand the importance of client education
• Team Player willing to continue to learn
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
