About The Position

Fresh Pond Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant. This is a full-time position with a salary of $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience. The schedule involves a four-day work week with alternating Saturdays. Fresh Pond Animal Hospital has proudly served its local community for more than 30 years. Requirements

  • Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Obtain thorough patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and equipment for patient care.
  • Safely restrain patients during examinations and procedures.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and anesthesia as directed.
  • Monitor anesthesia, patient vital signs, and recovery.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform diagnostic testing.
  • Provide attentive nursing care for recovering patients.
  • Educate clients about medications, treatments, and preventive care.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and efficient treatment area.
  • Support daily hospital operations and collaborate with teammates to maintain a smooth workflow.
