This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care for hospitalized surgical patients, including post-operative assessments, pain management, and wound care. The technician will also perform diagnostic laboratory testing, place and maintain IV catheters and drains, obtain radiographs, administer medications, and assist with surgical procedures. Maintaining accurate patient records, filling prescriptions, and educating pet owners are also key responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in specialty and surgical medicine, possess strong knowledge of pharmacology, and be comfortable handling and restraining patients safely and compassionately. The ability to work independently overnight while collaborating with the hospital team is essential, along with excellent communication and client service skills.
