About The Position

North Carrollton Veterinary Hospital is growing and looking for a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our amazing team. We’re a well-established three- to four-doctor practice that values the unique talents, personalities, and perspectives each person brings to the hospital. A veterinary technician license is welcome but not required. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic—whether in the kennel, at the front desk, or in a medical support role—is a plus, but we’re also willing to train someone who brings compassion, curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for animal care. Nice To Haves

  • A veterinary technician license is welcome but not required
  • Previous veterinary hospital experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience in a kennel, reception, or clinical support role is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
  • Obtain patient temperatures, vital signs, and other requested information
  • Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples as directed
  • Prepare vaccines, medications, and preventive products
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed and appropriate to your training
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress techniques
  • Perform diagnostic testing and treatments under veterinary supervision
  • Anticipate the veterinarian’s needs during appointments and procedures
  • Obtain and document accurate patient histories
  • Record treatment plans, medical notes, and client communication
  • Review treatment plans and estimates with clients
  • Obtain client consent for recommended services
  • Educate clients about medications, home care, preventive medicine, and general pet wellness
  • Communicate veterinary recommendations clearly and compassionately
  • Clean, disinfect, and restock exam rooms between appointments
  • Follow hospital sanitation, infection-control, and safety protocols
  • Help prevent the spread of infectious and zoonotic diseases
  • Assist with inventory, restocking, and daily hospital organization
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to keep appointments running smoothly
  • Support teammates and jump in wherever help is needed
