Veterinary Technician
About The Position
Countryside Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The role supports veterinarians with clinical and surgical care, performs technical procedures, communicates with clients, maintains medical records, and helps ensure the hospital is clean, stocked, safe, and ready for patients. The hospital emphasizes attentive, compassionate care and a calm, welcoming environment for pets and owners. The position pays $16.00–$19.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. The schedule is four 8–10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday. A typical schedule includes two shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and two shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Requirements
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
- Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
- Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
- Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
- Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
- Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
