About The Position

We are seeking a part-time weekend veterinary technician who will primarily be responsible for taking radiographs and assisting in our emergency room. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about animal care. Key Responsibilities: Perform high-quality radiographs with precision and care. Assist veterinarians and other technicians in the ER with various procedures. Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after radiographic procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all radiographic equipment is in good working order. Provide compassionate care and support to our patients and their owners. Triage and obtain patient history Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation

Requirements

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in taking radiographs.
  • Experience in an emergency veterinary setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations with poise.
  • Self-starter personality that can complete daily tasks without the need for constant direction
  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Credentialed veterinary technician.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate from an accredited American Veterinary Medical Association program for veterinary technology OR American Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • Credentialed veterinary Technician OR
  • Registered Radiological Technologist
