About The Position

Great Road Veterinary Hospital is actively seeking a full-time experienced veterinary technician. The ideal candidate will be confident working with the veterinarian, other technicians and customer service staff, be comfortable rooming patients, assisting in surgery, surgical recovery, have experience with proper animal handling and restraint. They will have knowledge of x-ray and positioning, draw blood samples and running bloodwork using Idexx equipment and other in-house laboratory equipment, understands the importance of client education, is a positive and supportive team player, and strive to continue to increase their knowledge in the veterinary industry. Located in the heart of Acton on historic Great Road, our hospital is surrounded by a vibrant, pet-loving community that values high-quality veterinary care. Requirements

  • 5 years or more of veterinary technician experience
  • Strong technical skills across anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics
  • Confidence in coaching, feedback, and team development
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • Ability to stay organized and lead in a fast-paced environment
  • High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and accountability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong focus on client service and patient care
  • Knowledge of animal handling, common veterinary drugs, and clinical procedures
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and professionalism
  • High school diploma (required)
  • 1 year of veterinary technician experience (required)

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT/LVT/RVT)
  • Degree in veterinary technology or related field
  • Degree in veterinary or related field (preferred)
