About The Position

Budd Lake Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, full-time Veterinary Technician to join their dedicated 3 DVM practice. The hospital values teamwork, high-quality medicine, and strong technician utilization. This role offers flexible scheduling options, with required attendance on Wednesdays until 8:00 pm and every Saturday. The compensation ranges from $22.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on experience, credentials, and skillset. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices, procedures, and terminology.
  • Proficiency in compassionately handling and restraining animals, including those exhibiting stress or fear.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using veterinary software for patient records and medical documentation.
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, and restrain animals of varying sizes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow throughout the hospital
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical and dental procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized and recovering patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and comfort care
  • Place IV catheters, administer IV fluids, and assist with fluid therapy and treatment plans
  • Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples for laboratory testing
  • Operate diagnostic equipment including digital radiography, dental radiography, and in-house laboratory analyzers
  • Support dental procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and dental radiography
  • Accurately maintain medical records, treatment logs, and patient documentation
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding treatment plans, patient updates, and post-procedure care
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care and maintain an efficient hospital environment
