As we continue to grow, we're seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team in beautiful Johns Island, South Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys client interaction, values continuity of care, and wants to continue developing their technical and surgical skills alongside an experienced veterinary team.
Requirements
- Confidence with patient restraint
- Confidence with venipuncture
- Confidence with exam room appointments
- Confidence with medical record documentation
- Confidence with client communication
- Minimum 1+ year of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced small animal practice
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and team-first mindset
- Passion for delivering exceptional patient care
- Ability to safely handle and restrain small animal patients
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working around animals, animal dander, cleaning products, and veterinary chemicals
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks including venipuncture, patient care, computer work, and medical record documentation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced veterinary environment
Nice To Haves
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, or CVT)
- Surgical and anesthesia experience
- Fear Free handling experience
- Interest in integrative or holistic veterinary medicine
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during appointments, diagnostics, and treatments
- Obtain and document patient histories
- Collect vital signs and perform patient assessments
- Provide confident and compassionate restraint for small animal patients
- Perform venipuncture and sample collection
- Assist with laboratory diagnostics and patient monitoring
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Guide clients through treatment recommendations and care plans
- Create, review, and discuss estimates with clients
- Obtain estimate approvals and support treatment plan communication
- Educate pet owners on preventative care and treatment protocols
- Deliver exceptional customer service while building long-term client relationships
- Surgical preparation and patient positioning
