About The Position

Turkeyfoot Family Pet Center is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Experienced Veterinary Technician for a full-time position (32-40 hours per week). The practice is a five-doctor small animal and exotics practice in Akron, Ohio, that is AAHA accredited, Fear Free Certified, Cat Friendly Certified, and Low Stress Handling Certified. They are passionate about providing exceptional patient care and embracing new technologies. Requirements

Registered Veterinary Technician credential or previous veterinary technician experience
Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and patient nursing
Experience with digital radiography and diagnostic sample collection
Emergency and surgical nursing experience
Professional, compassionate communication with clients and teammates
Collaborative, team-first mindset
Positive attitude, reliability, and passion for veterinary medicine
Creative ideas and enthusiasm for continually improving patient care

Responsibilities

Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and laboratory sample collection
Obtain high-quality digital radiographs
Run in-house laboratory diagnostics, including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, and cytology
Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
Provide compassionate nursing care and patient monitoring throughout hospitalization
Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions
Collaborate closely with doctors and teammates to provide exceptional patient care
