About The Position
VCA Cairo Animal Hospital is growing and seeking a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our expanding hospital! Our Story : We have been part of the community for 40 years and offer a full-service facility offering appointment-based Urgent Care, Hospitalization, Surgery, and Wellness care. Our Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) are dedicated to providing compassionate care to all of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
- Venipuncture and IVC placement
- Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
- Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
- Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
- Discharge instructions with clients.
- Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
- Inducing, maintaining, and monitoring anesthesia for procedures.
- Recovering patients from anesthesia.
- Performing nursing care of all patients.
- Utilize monitoring equipment and recognize trends.
- Dentistry and dental radiographs.
- Pharmacy.
- Processing laboratory samples in-house and preparing laboratory samples for outside labs.
- Diagnostic Imaging.
