Requirements

  • Previous Veterinary Technician experience preferred
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Safe and effective patient handling and restraint skills
  • Knowledge of preventive care and vaccines
  • Confidence with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and patient recovery
  • Familiarity with veterinary diagnostics and radiology
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Clear, professional, and compassionate communication with clients and teammates
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Collaborative, team-first mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed
  • Commitment to continued learning and professional growth
  • Genuine passion for veterinary medicine and exceptional patient care

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vitals, and patient assessments
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake through discharge
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Obtain high-quality radiographs and assist with diagnostic procedures
  • Run in-house laboratory testing, including CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal testing
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and instrument care
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals while maintaining accurate records
  • Educate clients with compassion, clarity, and confidence
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts
  • Keep treatment and exam areas clean, stocked, and organized
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain an efficient workflow and positive hospital culture
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional growth opportunities
