We are seeking an experienced Per Diem Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Veterinary Assistant to support our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. Requirements

  • California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in progressive general practice or two years in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital.
  • Strong skills in emergency nursing, anesthesia, pharmacology, and patient care.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care for emergency and hospitalized canine and feline patients.
  • Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
  • Execute, monitor, and recover anesthesia and sedation events.
  • Triage emergency patients and recognize changes in patient condition.
  • Assist veterinarians during minor surgical procedures.
  • Prioritize treatments and collaborate with doctors to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.
  • Educate clients regarding patient care, hospitalization, and discharge instructions.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
