About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join their Surgery Team. This role involves providing post-operative client communication and requires the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals. A minimum of two years of experience in a veterinary hospital is preferred. A rotating on-call schedule is required after training is completed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a larger team goal.
  • Rotating on call schedule is required once training has been completed.
  • Ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
  • Ability to perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
  • Understanding of normal vital parameters and ability to alert doctor when abnormal.
  • Ability to set up intravenous fluids.
  • Ability to administer subcutaneous fluids.
  • Ability to operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
  • Ability to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.
  • Ability to monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
  • Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities
