About The Position

Founders Green Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician Supervisor to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. Our ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.

Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification.
  • Previous leadership experience in the vet field.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
  • Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
  • Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and mentor the veterinary technician and assistant team, ensuring adequate coverage across all shifts
  • Conduct onboarding, training, and ongoing skill development; identify and close competency gaps
  • Deliver performance feedback, complete reviews, and partner with the Hospital Manager on hiring, coaching, and corrective action
  • Foster a collaborative, low-drama culture and serve as the first point of escalation for team concerns
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality nursing care, including anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep and assist, dentistry, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and treatment administration
  • Maintain compliance with practice protocols, controlled substance logs, OSHA and state veterinary board regulations, and infection control standards
  • Monitor and uphold medical record accuracy and completeness in the practice management system
  • Step into patient care and technician duties as caseload requires
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals — ordering, stocking, expiration tracking, and cost control
  • Oversee maintenance, calibration, and safe use of medical equipment
  • Optimize appointment and treatment flow to reduce wait times and improve doctor and technician efficiency
  • Support hospital KPIs, including productivity, compliance, and client retention metrics
  • Model professional, empathetic client communication and handle escalated client concerns
  • Ensure the team consistently educates clients on treatment plans, preventive care, and home care instructions
  • Partner closely with the Hospital Manager and Medical Director on staffing, protocol changes, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in leadership meetings and support rollout of new systems, protocols, and training programs
