We’re seeking an experienced Equine Veterinary Technician/Receptionist to join our growing equine practice. This unique hybrid position offers the opportunity to work directly with horses and veterinarians while also helping clients navigate appointments, treatments, farm calls, and follow-up care. No two days are exactly alike. One moment you may be assisting with a lameness examination or caring for a hospitalized horse, and the next you may be coordinating a farm call or helping a client understand the next steps in their horse’s care. This is an active, hands-on position that requires comfort working around large animals in a variety of conditions. Responsibilities may involve standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, and working on uneven surfaces. The position may involve handling horses weighing 900 pounds or more and lifting heavier materials with assistance when necessary. The work environment may include exposure to animal waste, odors, noise, changing weather conditions, infectious animals, controlled substances, bites, kicks, scratches, and other hazards associated with equine veterinary medicine.
