Veterinary Technician - Radiology
About The Position
Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, NJ is seeking a Full-time X-Ray/Radiology technician to join their busy emergency and specialty practice. The ideal candidate will have some experience as a veterinary assistant and will be responsible for managing all scheduled radiographs for emergent and specialty cases. This role also offers the opportunity for training on operating a CT scanner. Garden State Veterinary Specialists is a multispecialty practice with boarded veterinary specialists in various fields and has been treating felines with hyperthyroid disease since 2001. They pride themselves on creating a safe and supportive environment for their staff to develop skills and foster a collaborative, fun, and friendly team atmosphere.
Requirements
- At least 1 year experience as a veterinary technician
- Comfortable taking direction from doctors and technicians
- Updated knowledge of radiation protection and safety knowledge
- Prioritize patient’s depending on severity and time of admit
- Comprehensive understanding of the different radiograph techniques
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Organizational skills

- Commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community

Nice To Haves
- Some experience as a veterinary assistant
- Additional fluency in other languages is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee patients that require radiographs in both emergency and specialty
- Safely prepare and position patients for radiographs
- Attend to patient’s needs during imaging
- Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients and be a strong patient advocate during the patient's hospitalization
- Maintaining all equipment on a per-use basis ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients
