About The Position

The Patient Care Veterinary Technician provides nursing care and technical support to surgical and hospitalized patients at Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center’s North Dallas location. The role works closely with surgeons and the specialty team to monitor patients, manage pain, and provide attentive, compassionate care throughout recovery and hospitalization. DVSC specializes in advanced surgical care for dogs and cats, including neurologic, orthopedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive procedures.

Requirements

Be a Licensed Veterinary Technician or an experienced Veterinary Technician.
Demonstrate outstanding client service and excellent patient care.
Contribute to a positive, respectful, and uplifting hospital culture.
Be a hard worker who takes initiative and helps complete the day’s duties.
Adapt care to the individual needs of each patient.
Have clinical skills and experience in safe patient restraint, client service, phlebotomy, catheter placement, radiology safety and technique, post-operative monitoring and surgical patient care, common veterinary medications, and individualized patient-focused nursing.
Have fluent English speaking and reading skills.

Responsibilities

Place IV catheters, draw blood, and maintain IV fluids.
Support surgical recovery, post-operative pain management, and patient monitoring.
Perform radiographs and assist with surgical preparation and induction.
Maintain the patient care ward and complete accurate patient documentation.
Communicate compassionately with clients and provide patient-focused care.
Assist veterinarians with a wide range of duties and contribute to the operation of the hospital.
