About The Position

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN is seeking an exceptional, qualified, and passionate Veterinary Technician to join our growing Patient Care team. Our Golden Valley team is a family, and we promote a positive, fun, team-centered culture! You will work alongside board-certified critical care specialists and other skilled veterinary professionals to provide remarkable care for our patients and their families. This is a full-time day shift opportunity. 2 Holidays per year (may include swing shift and/or overnight) Every other full weekend required.

Requirements

  • Must have two years of technician experience
  • We are looking for an experienced technician with a strong work ethic who is dedicated to their chosen profession and is passionate about providing the highest quality of care for their patients.

Responsibilities

  • Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
  • Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Assist the doctor with creating patient treatment plans and thoroughly explaining to owners.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
  • Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
