Requirements

Previous experience in a veterinary hospital, animal clinic, kennel, or animal care setting is preferred.
Strong interest in veterinary medicine and a willingness to learn.
Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable safely handling dogs and cats of all sizes.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and credentialed technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
Prepare patients for surgery and assist with anesthesia monitoring and post-operative recovery under the direction of the veterinarian.
Collect blood, urine, and fecal samples and perform in-house laboratory testing.
Safely restrain and handle patients using low-stress and fear-free techniques whenever possible.
Administer medications and treatments as permitted by state regulations and hospital protocols.
Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records using our electronic medical record system- Cornerstone.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment area and hospital.
Work collaboratively with the entire veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care and client service.
