About The Position

SCAN in Naples, FL is searching for a Veterinary Technician experienced in Neurology and Surgery, with a passion for specialty medicine. The practice is a boutique-style veterinary neurology-neurosurgery practice with a mission to deliver expert and life-saving care to pets. The team uses gold standard diagnostics including high field MRI, digital radiography, electrodiagnostic (EMG), and CSF analysis to diagnose and treat diseases of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves. Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician experienced in Neurology and Surgery.
  • Passion for specialty medicine.
  • Competent, confident, and excited to add to knowledge base.
  • Proficient in anesthesia, venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to provide patients with meticulous and outstanding patient care during hospitalization.
  • Open mind, positive outlook.
  • Work with an elevated level of professionalism.
  • Thrive in an independent environment as well as a team setting.
  • Successful in navigating complex and sensitive situations in times of high stress.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (for $5,000 Sign-On Bonus).

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert and life-saving care to pets.
  • Collaborate with board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons.
  • Counsel pet parents and veterinarians to aid in making informed decisions about neurological care.
  • Utilize gold standard diagnostics including high field MRI, digital radiography, electrodiagnostic (EMG), and CSF analysis.
  • Diagnose and treat diseases of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.
  • Perform anesthesia.
  • Perform venipuncture.
  • Perform catheter placement.
  • Perform sample collection.
  • Provide meticulous and outstanding patient care during hospitalization.
  • Participate in an after-hours surgical on-call schedule.
