About The Position

Friendship Hospital for Animals, a leading AAHA-accredited hospital located in Washington D.C., is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic veterinary technician to join our cutting-edge Nephrology team. This role involves providing skilled nursing support alongside board-certified Nephrologist Dr. JD Foster and veterinary nephrology residents. Responsibilities include assisting with and managing dialysis sessions, supporting complex internal medicine/renal cases, and facilitating communication among clients and team members. The position offers a rare opportunity to be part of a world-class program in dialysis, kidney transplant coordination, and complex renal case management.

Requirements

Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) strongly preferred.
Minimum 5 years of veterinary technician experience, preferably in specialty medicine.

Experience or interest in nephrology, dialysis, or critical care highly valued.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled nursing support.
Assist with and manage dialysis sessions.
Assist with complex internal medicine/renal cases.
Provide support and communication to clients and team members.
Perform technical skills including IV catheterization, phlebotomy, advanced patient monitoring, and anesthesia monitoring.
Work with advanced tools such as MRI, CT, ventilator, ICU, and dialysis.
