BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to split their time between our Emergency department and Internal Medicine. Complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
Comfortable speaking with clients
Triaging patients
Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.

Responsibilities

Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
