BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to split their time between our Emergency department and Internal Medicine.   • Complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
  • Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
  • Comfortable speaking with clients
  • Triaging patients
  • Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
  • Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
  • Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
  • Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.

Responsibilities

  • Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
  • Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
  • Comfortable speaking with clients
