Overnight ICU Veterinary Technician
About The Position
Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Roseville is open 24 hours a day and is staffed by a team of highly skilled, compassionate veterinarians and veterinary technicians who are extensively trained in emergency medicine and intensive care. We are committed to working closely with the family and family veterinarians in providing the best care for your pet. We are on the hunt for an overnight experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team! As a Veterinary Technician in the ICU department, you will be responsible for providing nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring consistent evaluation and monitoring. You will demonstrate proficiency in advanced hospitalization care and continuous rate infusions (CRIs), perform in-house laboratory procedures, and skillfully place intravenous (IV) catheters. You will also conduct accurate and detailed patient rounds, safely restrain fractious and frightened patients, obtain temperature, pulse, and respiration (TPR) measurements, and maintain medical records. Recognizing situations requiring immediate attention from a veterinarian and acting as an advocate for both the patient and the client are key aspects of this role. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 year of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in an animal hospital setting required.
- Previous ICU experience highly preferred.
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques is required.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community.
- Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
- Passion for providing the highest quality in patient care.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is required.
