About The Position
Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Overnight ICU team. This full-time Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for a Vet Tech looking to grow advanced nursing skills while caring for hospitalized and critical patients in a specialty animal hospital. Join a collaborative team where you’ll work hands-on with a diverse caseload including ICU, post-operative, internal medicine, oncology, urgent care, and specialty patients while practicing advanced veterinary medicine.
Requirements
- 3+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred; ICU, Emergency, or Critical Care experience strongly preferred
- CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred
- Strong technical nursing skills with confidence managing hospitalized and critical patients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency and specialty environment
- Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
- Positive, collaborative attitude with a commitment to patient care and hospital culture
- Desire to continue learning, growing clinical skills, and contributing to a supportive team environment
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to hospitalized and critical care patients across ICU, Emergency, and Specialty services
- Monitor patient vitals, treatments, and overall condition, reporting changes promptly to attending clinicians
- Assist with advanced diagnostics, sample collection, medication administration, and dosage calculations
- Support care for postoperative surgical patients, internal medicine cases, oncology patients, urgent care cases, and specialty referrals
- Triage critical patients and assist with stabilization and ongoing monitoring
- Provide compassionate client communication, including patient updates, education, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate closely with Emergency clinicians, specialists, and fellow technicians to deliver exceptional patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to efficient daily hospital workflow
