Veterinary Technician, Emergency
About The Position
Pet Emergency & Referral Center is looking to add a Veterinary Technician to their growing Overnight Emergency team. This is a busy and growing 24-hour Emergency and Specialty hospital offering a fast-paced work environment. The Emergency service is staffed by seasoned Veterinarians to provide high quality medical care to our patients around the clock, while working within a culture of true teamwork and collaboration with the Specialty departments, who offer referral and continued care for critically ill patients. Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of previous Veterinary experience required
- Ability to Triage and Assess patients, and respond accordingly
- Critically thinking and maintaining a calm demeanor in stressful situations
- Flexibility to work in different areas of the hospital (Cross Training)
- Dependable, Knowledgeable, Experienced, Detail Oriented
Nice To Haves
- LVT or CVT preferred but not required
- Experienced in Emergency Care (for sign-on bonus)
Responsibilities
- Triage emergencies
- Perform phlebotomy
- Place IV catheters
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients
- Conduct in-house laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Support anesthetic induction, monitoring, and assistance with emergency and/or surgical procedures
