Veterinary Technician, Emergency
About The Position
MissionVet is a multi-disciplinary veterinary specialty and emergency hospital, and we are currently seeking an ER Veterinary Technician to help us continue to build our specialty practice and work in Emergency and Inpatient Care. As an essential part of our hospital, our technicians play a vital role, using their skills and expertise to provide exceptional care for patients and compassionate support for clients. The Emergency Veterinary Technician provides exceptional nursing care and technical support for critically ill and injured patients in a fast-paced emergency setting. This role works closely with veterinarians to perform advanced diagnostic, treatment, anesthesia, and monitoring procedures while ensuring compassionate care for patients and clear communication with clients.
Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or Skilled Technicians with at least two years of experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus
- The ability to thrive under pressure and make informed decisions in fast-paced situations.
- A genuine passion for animal care and a commitment to patient well-being.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in Emergency and Critical Care is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Experience or familiarity with emergency care, including advanced ICU monitoring, CRI calculations, and fluid rate management.
- Assessing and stabilizing critically ill patients while working closely with the veterinary team.
- Administering medications and treatments under the direction of experienced veterinarians.
- Providing compassionate support to concerned pet owners and keeping them informed about their pets' condition.
- Ensuring accurate and detailed medical record-keeping.
- Collaborating with veterinarians and team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
