About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. This is an exciting, fast-paced opportunity that will allow you to utilize the skills that you have worked so hard to gain. We will also give you the chance to expand and grow your skills, all while working alongside some of the most talented veterinary professionals. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. You will triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. You will perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients. You will have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. You will obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. You will identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. You will properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. You will be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. You will place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. You will have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers. You will have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Requirements

  • Experienced Veterinary Technicians
  • Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities
