BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Dental Veterinary Technician! LVT I Pay: $22.25 - $32.00/Hr Are you a passionate technician looking to improve your skills in the veterinary field?   • Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities

  • Perform oral examinations.
  • Perform dental charting.
  • Take dental radiographs with proper positioning and technique.
  • Set up and assist with dental procedures and surgeries.
  • Perform professional dental cleanings including subgingival scaling, root planning, and curettage.
  • Perform effective oral nerve blocks in preparation for advanced procedures as directed by veterinarian.
  • Calculate basic medical math.
  • Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
  • Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Perform phlebotomy.
  • Have the ability to place peripheral intravenous catheters.
  • Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
  • Induce, monitor anesthesia and recover patients.
