About The Position
Mother Lode Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join their collaborative and compassionate team. The hospital has a long-standing reputation for affordable, high-quality care, practicing progressive medicine and surgery. They work with local rescue organizations and care for a variety of patients including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other pocket pets. They are looking for a hospital where teamwork, learning, and patient care matter.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1–2 years of veterinary experience preferred
- Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician experience welcomed
- Knowledge of preventative care and vaccine protocols
- Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate approach to client service and patient care
- Reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to continue learning and growing
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and procedures
- Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate treatment records
- Provide compassionate nursing care and patient support
- Administer vaccines and support preventative care protocols
- Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Monitor anesthesia and support patient recovery care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to support efficient hospital workflow
- Help create exceptional experiences for patients and the people who love them
