About The Position

Allen Family Vet is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to support the practice’s daily operations and help maintain a positive, safe, team-oriented work environment. The role involves assisting doctors and veterinary technicians with patient care, treatments, and other clinical and hospital tasks. The successful candidate will multitask while prioritizing safety, quality, and client satisfaction; communicate respectfully with clients and teammates; take responsibility for high-quality work; use company resources responsibly; and contribute to continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to learn and develop veterinary skills, with potential to advance into a Veterinary Technician role.

Requirements

Able to work one to two Saturdays per month for a half day.
Able to lift patients weighing up to 25 pounds and lift patients over 25 pounds with assistance.
Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper use of personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to patients and clients.
Assist doctors and veterinary technicians with patient restraint and treatments.
Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment, including the hospital and breakroom.
Communicate with and educate clients, and conduct patient assessments.
Maintain thorough medical records.
Perform radiology duties.
Administer medications, fill prescriptions, and perform other pharmacy duties.
Monitor patients during recovery and after surgery.
Assist with in-house diagnostics.
Wrap and sterilize surgical equipment and instruments.
Restock supplies.
