Veterinary Technician/ Assistant
About The Position
Epic Tails Veterinary Clinic is hiring two full-time Veterinary Technicians or Assistants. This role is for individuals dreaming of working at a veterinary clinic where employee well-being is sacred, and the culture is healthy and warm. Requirements
- Skilled with the technical stuff: Low-stress and fear-free restraint and handling of cats and dogs
- Skilled with the technical stuff: Lab work, radiograph positioning and safety, injections (SQ, IV, IM), IV catheter placement, medication dispensing, and medical record maintenance, restraint for exams, and supporting veterinarians during procedures and appointments
- Skilled with the technical stuff: Hospital maintenance, stocking, and cleanliness
- Skilled with the soft stuff: client communication and education, conflict resolution, answering phones, and taking payments
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Able to work under pressure, in new environments
- Interested in growing your skillset and learning new things
- Someone who believes in welcoming clients into the medical process by educating, supporting, comforting, and treating them as individuals
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with birds and small mammals
- Anesthesia monitoring and administration experience
