About The Position

Trupanion is seeking a driven, reliable, extremely organized, and pet-passionate individual with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital environment to help build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with veterinary practices in the Anchorage area. This role involves visiting veterinary practices to educate hospital staff on the advantages of having insured clients and how to integrate this into their workflow. It's an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinary technician or veterinary customer service representative looking for a groundbreaking role in the industry. The position requires a full-time, 40-hour per week commitment with a high level of activity to support territory success. Candidates will earn an hourly salary with monthly or quarterly bonus opportunities. Employment is contingent upon obtaining a Property and Casualty license in Alaska, which involves a state background check.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a veterinary hospital environment.
  • Thorough understanding of the Veterinary Industry.
  • Passion for helping eliminate economic euthanasia in dogs & cats.
  • Outgoing and sales-driven personality.
  • Ability to present to hospital owners and staff with confidence.
  • Pet passionate and possess a strong belief in our mission.
  • Able to establish and maintain good relations with customers by providing courteous, efficient, and professional service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Innate entrepreneurial drive, embodying an attitude of persistence and patience.
  • Outstanding communication and listening skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (primarily Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Must possess a valid and clean driver's license record and reliable car.
  • Must live within the Anchorage area.
  • Must acquire and maintain a P&C Insurance License in order to be employed.

Responsibilities

  • Visit veterinary practices to build relationships.
  • Educate hospital staff on the advantages of having insured clients and how to incorporate this into their workflow.
  • Maintain and build territory success through a high level of activity.
  • Perform administrative work from a home office.
  • Physically visit animal hospitals in the territory.
  • Attend occasional weekends for Veterinary Conferences.
