About The Position

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist to join our team and serve as the face of our clinic. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you are the first point of contact for our clients. Your role is vital in ensuring that pets receive the care they need and that their owners feel supported and informed. You aren't just answering phones; you are managing a busy flow of patients, coordinating with medical staff, and providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a customer service role (veterinary or medical experience preferred but not required).
Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Strong emotional intelligence who can remain calm during medical emergencies and empathetic during difficult end-of-life discussions.

Responsibilities

Greeting clients, answering multi-line phone systems, and managing hospital email/text communications.
Scheduling wellness exams, surgeries, and urgent care visits using our practice management software.
Processing prescription refill requests and explaining basic medication instructions to clients.
Handling check-ins/check-outs, processing payments, and discussing invoices or third-party financing options (e.g., CareCredit/Scratchpay).
Maintaining accurate electronic medical records and ensuring all patient files are up to date.
Managing the waiting area and communicating wait times effectively to keep the clinic running smoothly.
