Requirements

  • Previous veterinary reception experience required
  • Experience managing a busy front desk and multi-line phone system
  • Strong understanding of veterinary appointment flow and client communication
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, compassionate, and professional demeanor
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Confidence using computers and veterinary practice management software
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion
  • Answer multi-line phone systems and assist clients with questions
  • Schedule and confirm appointments while maintaining an efficient hospital workflow
  • Check clients and patients in and out
  • Process payments accurately and review invoices with clients
  • Maintain accurate client and patient records
  • Communicate appointment details, hospital services, and follow-up instructions
  • Help manage a busy appointment schedule and prioritize urgent client needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and fellow receptionists to provide exceptional client service
  • Support clients with empathy during both routine visits and emotional situations
