Hamilton Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our experienced and dedicated team. Requirements
- At least one year of veterinary medicine experience
- Previous veterinary reception or client service experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional during stressful situations
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping skills
- Ability to perform cashier and payment-processing duties accurately
- Comfort working in a busy veterinary environment
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and common appointment types
- Experience with veterinary practice management software
- Dependable, collaborative, team-first approach
Nice To Haves
- AVImark experience is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
- Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone
- Manage multiple phone lines and respond to client questions efficiently
- Schedule appointments and help maintain an organized daily workflow
- Check patients in and out while ensuring accurate client and patient information
- Manage lobby flow and help create a welcoming environment
- Communicate calmly and compassionately with clients during stressful situations
- Assist with medication pickups and client inquiries
- Provide information about hospital services and products
- Enter and maintain accurate information in the practice management system
- Process invoices, collect payments, and perform cashier duties accurately
- Assist with medical record requests, faxes, and other administrative responsibilities
- Reconcile the cash drawer and complete end-of-day duties
- Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and teammates to support exceptional patient and client care
