About The Position

Lakeside Spears Animal Hospital is seeking a part-time Veterinary Receptionist to primarily support Urgent Care on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with the ability to cover General Practice shifts during the week as needed. The hospital is committed to providing excellent service with integrity, treating pets with patience and kindness, and is looking for motivated and talented professionals to join their team. The role involves maintaining the hospital reception area, greeting clients and patients, answering questions, triaging concerns, scheduling appointments, checking clients in and out, and processing payments. Receptionists must offer emotional support to clients during difficult times and be comfortable with various medical outcomes. The position requires the ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises and may involve exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. The hospital offers opportunities for growth through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred

Responsibilities

Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
Greet and welcome clients and patients
Answer questions and triage client concerns
Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
Check in and check out clients
Process payments
Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
Withstand unpleasant odors and noises
Be prepared for potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
