About The Position

The Troy & Wentzville Veterinary Clinics have been serving the community for over 60 years, providing high-quality veterinary care for companion animals, beef cattle, and equines. We understand the deep bond between owners and their animals and are dedicated to offering the best medical care available. Our team provides experienced, loving care, ensuring healthy and happy pets and productive livestock. This part-time position involves maintaining the reception area, greeting clients and patients, managing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and processing check-ins/check-outs and payments. Receptionists also provide emotional support to clients during difficult times and must be comfortable with various medical outcomes, unpleasant odors, noises, and potential exposure to animal-related hazards. Opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development are available.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Highly organized
Possess computer skills
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases

Responsibilities

Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
Greet and welcome clients and patients
Answer questions and triage client concerns
Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
Check in and check out clients
Process payments
Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
Be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
Be aware of potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
