About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Conshohocken, PA is seeking a compassionate, organized, and motivated Part-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! This position is crucial to the success of our hospital, as you will be the first point of contact for clients. You will ensure each client receives the care and attention they need, functioning calmly and compassionately in potentially emotional and difficult situations. Responsibilities include greeting clients, assessing their needs and their pet's condition, determining the urgency of emergencies, responding to calls and visitors, confirming appointments, and providing emotional support and resources to grieving clients. You will also serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during the handling of pet remains.

Requirements

Compassionate, organized, and motivated.
Ability to function calmly and compassionately in situations that can be very emotional and difficult for clients.
Must possess unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities

Greet and make friendly eye contact every time the hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgement.
Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor.
Be a compassionate listener.
Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.
Assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need, as well as the pet’s general condition.
Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
Confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
