About The Position

Moffett Veterinary Hospital provides a wide range of services for dogs and cats, including preventive care, surgery, dental cleaning and radiographs, in-house labs, boarding, bathing, grooming, and more. The Veterinary Receptionist will be responsible for maintaining the visual appeal of the hospital reception area, greeting and welcoming clients and patients, answering questions and triaging client concerns, handling calls and emails, scheduling appointments efficiently, and checking clients in and out while processing payments. This role requires offering friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need, and comfort with various medical outcomes. The position may involve exposure to unpleasant odors, noises, bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. Opportunities for growth are available through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience required
  • Confident in a fast-paced veterinary environment
  • Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
  • Highly organized
  • Possess computer skills
  • Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
  • Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
  • May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
  • Greet and welcome clients and patients
  • Answer questions and triage client concerns
  • Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
  • Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
  • Check in and check out clients
  • Process payments
  • Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to clients
  • Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
