About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring for Veterinary Receptionists. This role is for an excellent customer service professional who can offer guidance, comfort, and support. It provides an opportunity to work with top veterinary medicine professionals in a collaborative environment that inspires growth. Veterinary Receptionists are crucial to the hospital's success, serving as the first BluePearl Associate a client sees. They are responsible for ensuring each client receives the necessary care and attention and must be able to function calmly and compassionately in emotional and difficult situations.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service professional
  • Ability to offer guidance, comfort, and support
  • Ability to function calmly and compassionately in situations that can be very emotional and difficult for our clients
  • Possess unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card

Responsibilities

  • Greet and make friendly eye contact every time our hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgement.
  • Always offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor.
  • Be a compassionate listener.
  • Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.
  • Assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need, as well as the pet’s general condition.
  • Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
  • Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
  • Confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
  • Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
