Veterinary Receptionist
About The Position
Sumter County Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining the visual appeal of the hospital reception area, greeting and welcoming clients and patients, answering questions, triaging client concerns, handling calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and processing check-ins, check-outs, and payments. The receptionist must offer compassionate and discreet emotional support to clients during difficult times and be comfortable with various medical outcomes. The role requires the ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises and may involve exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. The hospital offers opportunities for growth through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player
- Multi-Tasker
- Strong Communicator
- Highly organized
- Possess computer skills
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
- Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
- May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
- Authorization and completion of a satisfactory background check may be required for hiring eligibility
Responsibilities
- Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area

- Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
- Check in and check out clients
