About The Position

Shenandoah Veterinary Hospital, established in 1974, is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist. This role is crucial for maintaining the visual appeal of the hospital reception area, greeting and welcoming clients and patients, answering questions, and triaging client concerns. The receptionist will also handle calls and emails, schedule appointments efficiently, and manage check-ins, check-outs, and payment processing. A key aspect of this role involves providing compassionate and discreet emotional support to clients during difficult times, requiring comfort with various medical outcomes. The position may involve exposure to unpleasant odors, noises, bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. Requirements

Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred

Responsibilities

Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
Greet and welcome clients and patients
Answer questions and triage client concerns
Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
Check in and check out clients
Process payments
Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
Withstand unpleasant odors and noises
Handle potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
