About The Position

Veterinary Surgical Centers (VSC) is seeking an experienced and motivated Veterinary Radiology Technician with MRI and CT experience to join their growing specialty hospital team in Vienna, Virginia. This role is responsible for supporting advanced diagnostic imaging services while ensuring exceptional patient care, safety, efficiency, and collaboration within a fast-paced specialty environment. Whether you are a credentialed radiology technologist or someone with strong hands-on MRI/CT experience looking to transition into veterinary medicine, VSC welcomes your application. Requirements

  • MRI and/or CT experience strongly preferred
  • Human healthcare imaging experience welcomed
  • Veterinary experience preferred but not required
  • Registered or credentialed radiology/imaging technologists are highly encouraged to apply
  • Candidates with strong hands-on MRI or CT experience, even without formal radiology credentials, are also encouraged to apply
  • Experience monitoring anesthesia preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty environment
  • Strong attention to detail and patient safety
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift and position patients safely

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for MRI and CT procedures
  • Operate MRI and CT equipment according to hospital protocols and safety standards
  • Safely monitor anesthetized and sedated patients during imaging procedures
  • Assist veterinarians and specialists with diagnostic imaging studies and image acquisition
  • Ensure high-quality imaging results while minimizing repeat scans
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records within the hospital information system
  • Coordinate imaging schedules to support efficient patient flow and timely case management
  • Follow all MRI, CT, anesthesia, and radiation safety protocols
  • Properly use dosimetry badges and PPE as required
  • Maintain imaging equipment cleanliness and operational readiness
  • Report equipment concerns, safety issues, or operational problems promptly
  • Support compliance with hospital policies and imaging safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, neurologists, anesthesiologists, ER clinicians, and nursing teams
  • Provide updates and education to clients regarding imaging procedures when appropriate
  • Assist with training and mentorship of team members and cross-coverage support
  • Participate in workflow improvement initiatives and departmental organization
  • Other duties as assigned
