About The Position

The Radiology Assistant provides essential administrative and clinical support to the Diagnostic Imaging team at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Working closely with radiologic technologists, the position helps ensure imaging services are organized, efficient, and prepared to meet the needs of veterinary patients, clients, students, and clinical teams. The Radiology Assistant also helps maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized environment to support efficient patient care and daily radiology operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in working in medical setting, veterinary or human
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Ability to anticipate the needs of the imaging team and work proactively with minimal supervision
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn hospital information systems
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, established procedures, and safety protocols
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to safely enter MRI bore room
Rabies prophylaxis required; provided by the employer

Nice To Haves

Previous experience or education in an imaging department
Previous experience working with or handling small and/or large animals
Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and common diagnostic procedures

Responsibilities

Assisting technologists with patient and exam preparation
Verifying imaging orders and required information
Maintaining organized work areas and imaging supplies
Completing routine office and administrative duties
Cleaning and stocking equipment and procedure areas
Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment to support efficient patient care and daily radiology operations
