About The Position

The CSU Veterinary Health System is seeking a Veterinary Radiation Oncologist with a strong interest in the diagnosis and treatment of complex cancer conditions in dogs, cats, and exotics. This role involves utilizing advanced imaging, radiation therapy equipment, and diagnostic technologies, while collaborating with other specialty services. The successful candidate will provide superior patient care, supervise patient and client care for both the oncology and radiation oncology services, and teach veterinary students, interns, and residents. Participation in didactic resident training, including journal clubs and daily student case rounds, is expected. While the faculty does not provide after-hours emergency support, the candidate will be expected to provide after-hours support for radiation oncology house officers.

Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent degree
  • American College of Veterinary Radiology Radiation Therapy (ACVR-RO) board certification
  • Eligibility to obtain a State of Colorado Veterinary License (either Academic or full license)
  • Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires)
  • Required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety and welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Consultation oversight allowing for medical management of radiation oncology cases using clinical presentation and diagnostic results to provide differential diagnoses and medical and/or radiation treatment options.
  • Management of cases with multiple co-morbidities and potential post-treatment complications.
  • Performance and supervision of radiation planning and treatment procedures.
  • Clinical teaching of students, interns and residents.
  • Provide after-hours support for radiation oncology house officers.
